Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to provide financial assistance of ₹10 lakh to the family members of Lingala Kedari and his wife Pushpalatha, who died in a tragic incident earlier this month, in recognition of their contribution to the Telangana movement.
Mr. Kedari, a resident of Shantinagar–Postal Colony in Hanumakonda, and his wife were involved in social service during the separate Telangana movement. The couple ran a small hotel and provided free meals, tiffins and tea to activists during the movement. They also campaigned against food wastage by emphasising the importance of treating food with respect.
Mr. Kedari died on September 9, 2026, while Ms. Pushpalatha died the following day. The Hanumakonda Collector was told to ensure that the ₹10 lakh sanctioned from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) reaches their eligible legal heirs.
In a separate case, Mr. Revanth Reddy directed officials to sanction ₹5 lakh to the family of Mandala Raju, who went missing during the Telangana Statehood movement in 2013.
Mr. Raju, 34, son of Mandala Sammi Reddy of Gorleaveedu village in Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district, went missing on June 20, 2013. According to a representation made by Bhupalpally MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao, Mr. Raju had actively participated in the Telangana movement and was arrested and lodged in Cherlapally Central Prison before subsequently going missing.
Responding to the MLA’s request, the Chief Minister directed officials to provide ₹5 lakh to Mr. Sammi Reddy on humanitarian grounds under the Telangana martyrs’ quota.
