Congress party workers and folk artists waiting at the Bhagawan Mahavir (Pumpwell) circle for the start of the roadshow of Chief Minister D.K.Shivakumar and his Cabinet colleagues from the circle to Praja Soudha, the venue of the Cabinet meeting on Friday.

The schedule of Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar went haywire on Friday, leaving party workers and others waiting for more than two hours at the Kadri Manjunatha Temple, at the Bhagwan Mahaveer (Pumpwell) Circle, and at the Praja Soudha, the venue of the Cabinet meeting.
Preparations were in full swing at the Kadri Manjunatha temple in Mangaluru at 9 a.m., when Mr. Shivakumar was expected to arrive. Apart from Congress workers who had come in large numbers, anganwadi workers, Guarantee scheme beneficiaries, and Guarantee scheme implementation committee members were waiting for him. Temple priests in special costumes were waiting with a “Kalash” to welcome the Chief Minister.
Mr. Shivakumar had an hour-long meeting with more than 20 social media influencers at a hotel set up at a place where Mahatma Gandhi had stayed in Mangaluru. He then held an hour-long meeting with department Secretaries at the Circuit House. Mr. Shivakumar arrived at the temple around 11.30 a.m. He left with his Cabinet colleagues in a special KSRTC bus for the Circuit House. From there, they boarded an open-top KSTDC double-decker bus for a ride to Praja Soudha, via Pumpwell.
They reached Praja Soudha around 1 p.m. and the Cabinet meeting started soon after. The meeting was earlier scheduled for 10 a.m. Mr. Shivakumar addressed the media briefly at 4 p.m., after the meeting, and left for Hebri in Udupi district for a meeting on the Kasturirangan report.
