Two houses in P.M. Swamy Colony, in Ward 73 of the Coimbatore Corporation, have been facing severe hardship as sewage from their underground drainage (UGD) connections has been reversing into their homes for over a month, with no permanent solution provided by the Coimbatore Corporation.

The affected house owners, M. Kuthubdeen and Sankesh, said the problem began in February this year. Since then, sewage has been surging out of the UGD manholes located inside their houses, particularly around 10 a.m., and continues to overflow for nearly two hours before subsiding.
