Collector inspects development works in Nagapattinam

As part of Ungalai Thedi, Ungal Ooril programme, Nagapattinam Collector K. J. Praveen Kumar on Wednesday inspected government schemes and development works in Kilvelur taluk of the district.

He inspected the e-Sevai Centre functioning at Kilvelur Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Society and reviewed the services, including issuance of income and community certificates, provided to the public. He also checked the service charges collected at the centre.

Mr. Kumar inspected the Integrated Agricultural Extension Centre at Kurukathi and reviewed the availability and distribution of seeds, fertilizers and other agricultural inputs.

At Athipuliyur village, he inspected the concrete bridge constructed across the Kilvelur–Kurukkathi drainage channel near Neelapadi under the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department at a cost of ₹2.25 crore.

At Eravancheri village, the Collector inspected an 820-metre-long tar road constructed under the Chief Minister’s Rural Roads Improvement Scheme at a cost of ₹37.17 lakh. He verified the road’s length, width and thickness and checked the quality of materials used in the work. He directed officials to expedite the remaining work.
