District Election Officer and Collector M.Saravanan has appealed to the members of public to desist from carrying cash above Rs.50,000 without valid documents.
To check violations of the election Model Code of Conduct, 27 flying squad teams (FSTs) and an equal number of static surveillance teams (SSTs) in the district. Each of the nine Assembly segments will have three FSTs and three SSTs functioning round-the-clock, he said.
Complaints with respect to the violations of the model code can be lodged in the cVIGIL mobile App or over the telephone at 1800599000001 or the 24-hour Control Room at 0431-2905846/ 2905921/2905578/2905591/2905813.
No defacement, including wall writings and posters, would be allowed on public and private walls in Corporation, municipal and town panchayat limits. In villages, election related advertisements can be made on private properties with the consent of the owners. However, they should not cause any hindrance to the public.
In all, about 14,000 government officials and employees would be involved in election duty in Tiruchi district, Mr. Saravanan added.
