A 19-year-old motorist was killed after being run over by a car in Neelankarai on Tuesday.
A senior official of the city traffic police said Mohammed Rafi was a resident of P.K.S. Garden in Palavakkam, and was studying in a private college in Adyar. As Rafi was proceeding on ECR, his vehicle hit a small trench, which was dug across the road for stormwater drain work. He lost control of the vehicle and fell.
As he tried to get up, a car coming from behind ran over him, killing him on the spot. The Adyar Traffic Investigation Police are conducting an investigation.
