A couple was killed on the spot when the car they were travelling in rammed into a culvert on Rajiv Highway (SH-1) near Basanthnagar in Peddapalli district early on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Edla Srinivas (45), a realtor, and his wife Rajitha (40), residents of Mancherial town, police said.
They were returning to Mancherial from Hyderabad after visiting their daughter in the State capital, when the accident took place. It is suspected that Srinivas, who was driving the car, lost control of the vehicle due to drowsiness, leading to the accident.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
