Curb wildlife attacks on people: Catholic Bishops Council

The Kerala CSI Bishops’ Council, which held a two-days long meeting in Kottayam, has urged both the Central and State governments to take proactive measures to curb the ongoing wildlife attacks that pose a serious threat to human lives. The council also called on the State government to ensure equal rights for all school managements in the recruitment of differently abled persons.

Deputy Moderator Bishop V.S. Francis was elected president of the Kerala CSI Bishops’ Council, while Bishop Dr. Malayil Sabu Koshi Cheriyan was appointed Secretary. Bishop Kurian Peter of the Kochi Diocese was elected Regional Chairman of the Youth Fellowship, and Bishop Jose George of the Kollam-Kottarakkara Diocese was named Chairman of the Sunday School Fellowship.

The council also emphasized the urgent need for the implementation of the Justice J.B. Koshy Commission report.
