Delhi government starts preparation of Budget 2027-28

The Delhi government has initiated the process for preparations for the next financial year’s budget and has asked departments to give their proposals by mid-October. officials said on Thursday.

“The Finance Department has initiated the process of preparation of the Revised Estimates (RE) for 2026-27 and Budget Estimates (BE) for 2027-28. All the departments are, therefore, requested to submit the Revised Estimates 2026- 27 and Budget Estimates 2027-28 in the prescribed proforma,” a circular issued by the Finance Department read. 

The pre-budget/RE meetings will start from the last week of October 2026, for which the dates and time will be communicated separately, as per the circular. 

“Revised Estimates/Budget Estimates should be formulated taking a realistic assessment of the requirement of funds which can be utilized by the department during the financial year,” the circular said.
