The bomb threats come amid heightened security arrangements in the national capital ahead of Independence Day

Multiple locations, including the Delhi High Court, in the national capital received bomb threats on Friday (August 14, 2026), a day ahead of Independence Day.
The Delhi High Court received the threat for Saturday (August 15, 2026) through email. Titled ‘BOMB Blast Delhi High Court @ 2:11PM’, the email warned of a blast at the High Court at 2:11 p.m. on August 15. It also threatened explosions at district courts in Delhi at 3:11 p.m. on the same day.
There was no immediate disruption to the judicial work, with court proceedings at the Delhi High Court continuing as per the usual schedule.
Bomb threat via calls in five other locations
Five other locations — Jamnagar House, Jhandewalan Building, the MB Road Saket office, Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office in Delhi Cantonment — received bomb threats via phone calls.
The Delhi Fire Services Department, which received the information between 11.18 a.m. and 11.40 a.m., rushed fire tenders to all five locations. No suspicious items have been found so far, authorities said.
The development comes amid heightened security arrangements in the national capital ahead of Independence Day, with security agencies maintaining a close watch over sensitive installations and public places.
