Development works worth ₹53.25 crore inaugurated in Atmakur

Minister of Endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, along with MA&UD Minister Dr. Ponguru Narayana and Housing Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy, inaugurated various development works worth ₹53.25 crore and laid foundation stones in the Atmakur Constituency in SPSR Nellore district on Monday (September 21, 2026).

Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has sanctioned over ₹29 crore for the development of urban infrastructure in Atmakur Municipality. The Minister unveiled a pylon for development works worth ₹45 crore within the premises of the Atmakur Municipal Office. He said that the Chief Minister would virtually lay the foundation stone for these works from Kuppam on Tuesday (September 22).

Later, the Ministers and public representatives inaugurated Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple—built at a cost of ₹75 lakh—at the TIDCO housing complex in Atmakur, marking a first-of-its-kind initiative in the State. They participated in the Maha Kumbhabhishekam ceremony and performed special prayers.

The Endowments Minister said that work on 2,000 temples has already commenced as part of the State-wide target to construct 5,000 temples with the funds of Srivani Trust. He mentioned that plans are being prepared for another 1,000 temples.

Minister Narayana announced that temples would be constructed across 163 TIDCO housing project sites in the State, thanks to the special initiative taken by Minister Ramanarayana Reddy.

The Ministers laid the foundation stone for pipeline works worth ₹1 crore, funded by NUDA, to provide a permanent solution to the drinking water issue in the TIDCO colony. Measures are being taken to resolve problems caused by old pipelines and ensure a continuous supply of drinking water to the residents.

Foundation stones were laid for the construction of new electrical substations in the Perumallapadu and Annareddipalem-Maktapuram areas at a cost of approximately ₹7 crore. Officials stated that these works are being undertaken with the aim of further strengthening the power supply system.

Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy stated that the mini-bypass road has been expanded from a single-lane to a four-lane road. He added that the tendering process for the central divider and central lighting works has been completed, and the works will commence soon.

Prioritising welfare alongside development initiatives, Chief Minister’s Relief Fund cheques worth ₹1.46 crore were distributed to 185 families. Ministers stated that the government’s objective is to advance both development and welfare in tandem.
