Devotees pull Swamimalai temple car

The annual ‘Chithirai’ car festival of Sri Swaminathaswamy temple, Swamimalai, near Kumbakonam was held on May 2.

The decorated idols of Sri Valli Devasena sametha Sri Subramaniyaswamy were brought to the wooden car deck from the temple around 7 a.m. and placed on the pedestal of the carrier. The car was pulled out of its deck around 8.30 a.m. and brought back to the deck around noon.
