Orientation programme
The Alagappa Institute of Management (AIM), Alagappa University, inaugurated its 33rd AIMERS batch and conducted a five-day orientation programme.
Senior Professor and Director S. Chandramohan presided and encouraged students to participate in seminars, internships, research and placement training.
Vice-chancellor G. Ravi inaugurated and spoke on the vision of Alagappa Chettiar, stressing the importance of holistic development and student participation in sports.
Professor C.K. Muthukumaran welcomed, while Professor K. Chandrasekar proposed a vote of thanks.

Thassim Beevi Abdul Kader College for Women, Kilakarai, organised a one-day workshop on Open Source Software Technologies and an awareness session on the FOSSEE Project.
Principal S. Sumaya inaugurated. National Coordinator, Geospatial FOSSEE (NMEICT), Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, M. Mohamed Kasim Khan delivered the keynote address.
The college was recognised as a National-Level Open Source Geospatial Knowledge Centre for Women Empowerment for the 2026-2031 by the Geospatial FOSSEE Project and the RuDRA Lab, IIT Bombay.
More than 1,564 students and 120 faculty members participated in the programme.
MoU signed
Sri Kaliswari College, through its Central Library, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Society for the Advancement of Library and Information Science (SALIS), Chennai.
The two-year agreement aims to promote academic and research collaboration through the exchange of publications, research resources and professional expertise.
The collaboration will also facilitate orientation programmes, seminars, workshops, conferences, training programmes and information literacy initiatives for students, faculty members and library staff.

Actor and comedian Vicky Siva was the chief guest. Alumnus Jayaraj Theenathayalan, London, and Electro Technical Officer, Indian Army, K. Manoj Raj were the guests of honour.
The festival featured on-stage and off-stage competitions. Principal S. Senthil welcomed, while secretary R. Mahesh Kumar delivered the felicitation address.

Kalasalingam University celebrated its 39th Convocation, during which 4,835 students received degrees across various disciplines.
Vice-president S. Shasi Anand declared the convocation open. Vice-chancellor S. Narayanan presented the annual report, while chief guest Venu Gopal Achanta, Director, CSIR, distributed degrees, medals and certificates to 145 rank holders.
Technology Head and vice-president, Rocket India, Mohanbabu Balachandran, and vice-president and Global Head, FS Core Technologies, Capgemini, Dhinakar Selwyn, addressed the graduates.
