Dindigul Corporation removes encroachment along road margins

Following complaints of traffic congestion, Dindigul Corporation on Friday removed encroachments along road margins. A large number of police personnel were deployed.

Dindigul Corporation Commissioner J. Prem Anand instructed the officials to take necessary action and remove encroachments along the road margins. A large number of Corporation and Police personnel were deployed to carry out the exercise.

Temporary shops that had been installed along the road margins were demolished. The Corporation officials said the encroachments had caused inconvenience to the public and resulted in traffic congestion.

The officials issued a warning stating that shops should not be set up along road margins. Strict action would be taken if there were any violations, the officials said.
