Sri Maruteshwara Doddata Sanga in collaboration with the Department of Kannada and Culture, Dharwad, will organise cultural programmes featuring traditional folkart forms such as Doddata and Bayalata in six villages, including Alagavadi, on Saturday.
Addressing media persons in Hubballi on Friday, noted Bayalata storyteller Teevanti Bheema Reddy Meti said that the programme will be held on the Government Model Primary School Grounds in Alagavadi.
He said that 15 folk troupes will perform not only in Alagavadi but also in five neighbouring villages. Each team is expected to perform for about 30 minutes.
Mr. Meti said that Sri Maruteshwara Doddata Sangha has been organising such traditional cultural performances since 1976 with the aim of preserving and promoting folkart forms.
