In fit of anger, a 60-year-old man, R. Krishnan stabbed his son, Pandidurai (24) with a knife following a scuffle over money dispute in Sedapatti in Madurai district on Tuesday (February 3, 2026) night.
The police said that the farmer from Kammalapatti, Krishnan, had sold his farm produce to a trader few days back. However, Pandidurai had taken ₹20,000 from the trader without the knowledge of his father.
This led to a quarrel between the father and son that led to an irated son assaulting Krishnan. Later, when Pandidurai was walking near a school in the village on Tuesday night, Krishnan attacked him with a knife in which Pandidurai sustained bleeding injury on his neck.
He was rushed to Usilampatti Government hospital from where he was referred to Government Rajaji hospital in Madurai.
Sedapatti police are investigating.
