The monthly grievances redress meeting for farmers will be conducted from 3 p.m. on December 24, according to officials.
Since the officials will be preoccupied with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the forenoon hours, the meeting will be conducted in the afternoon hours, official sources said.
The meeting that was meant to have been conducted on the last Friday of November was postponed to December 19, since senior officials of Agriculture and Horticulture departments in the district had to attend the 87th seminar for Agricultural Scientists and Extension Officers at Chennai.
On December 11, the farmers’ associations were told that the meeting will be conducted on December 19. Four days later, the authorities intimated about further postponement of the meeting in view of the release of draft electoral rolls as part of the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) exercise 2025.
The farmers’ grievances redress day meeting on December 24 will be a combined meeting for November and December, sources added.
