About 1.37 lakh applications for inclusion, deletion, and correction have been received in Tiruchi district after the publication of the draft electoral rolls on December 19, 2025 as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voters list.
Following the publication of the draft rolls, the Election Commission had announced that voters whose names were omitted and those who have attained the age of 18 as on January 1, 2026; and non-Resident Indians can apply for inclusion of their names by filing Form 6 and 6A, respectively. Applications for deletion of dead voters or double entries (Form 7) and corrections (Form 8) were filed. The district administration had conducted special camps on a couple of weekends to receive the applications at all the 2,785 polling stations in the district.
Till January 30, the district had received 1,37,308 applications. Of this, 89,867 were applications for inclusions; 38,971 were for corrections, and 8,383 were for deletions.
Of the nine Assembly constituencies, the four urban Assembly segments of Tiruchi West (14,984), Tiruchi East (14,066), Srirangam (12, 543), and Tiruverumbur (12,542) had attracted the most number of applications for inclusions.
District Collector V. Saravanan said that booth-level officers (BLOs) were engaged in conducting field enquiries on the applications. All applications have been uploaded to the BLO App. Based on BLO reports, the Electoral Registration Officers concerned pass final orders by February 10. The final electoral rolls is scheduled to be released on February 17 as per the direction of the Election Commission, he said.
