Foreign visitors touring by auto rickshaws visit Thanjavur

Twenty-nine foreign tourists, including 16 women, who are touring the country to learn about its culture and tradition, have arrived in Thanjavur.

According to sources, every year a section of foreign tourists travel by autorickshaws. This year, a total of 29 tourists comprising 16 women and 13 men from the United Kingdom, Japan and Australia are travelling over 1,500 km in autorickshaws and arrived in Chennai on December 28.

From there, they went to Puducherry and arrived in Thanjavur on Tuesday night. They visited Sri Brahadeeswarar temple, popularly known as Big Temple, on Wednesday, December 31.

They plan to celebrate New Year Eve in Madurai on Wednesday and pass through Tuticorin and Kanniyakumari before winding up their ‘autorickshaw tour’ at Thiruvananthapuram on January 6, 2025.
