Former Deputy Mayor and councillor of ward 30 of Tirunelveli Corporation P. Ganesan alias Jeganathan, 49, of the AIADMK passed away here on Monday night after prolonged illness.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. Sources close to the family of Ganesan said he was undergoing treatment for multiple health issues and underwent an open heart bypass surgery in Chennai.
Even as he was recuperating from the surgery, Jeganathan developed issues in the kidney that led to rapid deterioration of his health, and he breathed his last on Monday night.
