Former Udupi City Municipal Council Vice-President killed

Former Udupi City Municipal Council Vice-President Lakshmi Manjunath died after being hit by a private bus near the Old Taluk Office Circle in Udupi on Saturday.

The Udupi Traffic police said Ms. Manjunath was hit by the Udupi-bound bus, named Satyanath, while crossing the road after exiting a Canara Bank branch near the District Court. She fell onto the road and came under the wheels of the bus and died on the spot.

A case has been registered against the driver of the private bus, the police said.
