Four bike-borne men allegedly robbed ₹31.38 lakh in cash from an employee of a private firm while he was transporting the money from different branches to the head office on Sakalawara Road, in the limits of the Bannerghatta police station, on Sunday.
Kailash, an employee of a cash pickup agency, was assigned to collect cash from various branches of a private company. On Sunday, Kailash collected a total of ₹31,38,625 from three branches and was heading towards Bannerghatta on a motorcycle when the robbery took place.
The police said the four persons arrived on two motorcycles, blocked Kailash’s vehicle, threatened him with a knife, and robbed the cash he was carrying, before escaping from the scene.
The accused later abandoned the motorcycles about one kilometre away, took the cash and fled. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras, and the visuals have since gone viral on social media.
Following the incident, the police conducted a spot inspection and launched an investigation and launched a manhunt.
