In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old girl identified as Sruthika, daughter of Palanivel of Pattathikaadu village, Karambakudi block, Pudukottai district was found dead in a house in Aranmanai Lane near Thenkarai in Theni district on Wednesday.
Police said that Sruthika was studying fourth year in a private agricultural college in Karaikudi. Six students, including Sruthika, had come to Periyakulam for a field trip comprising boys and girls. They were staying in a house in Aranmanai Lane here.
On Wednesday, it is said, she fainted. When her friends rushed her to the hospital, doctors said that she had died and declared her brought dead.
On information, the parents arrived here on Thursday and demanded a thorough probe into the death and said that the death was suspicious. Police investigation was on.
