The Central Haj Committee has extended to September 30 the deadline for submitting medical screening certificates for Haj pilgrims. The extension was granted considering the technical and practical difficulties faced by pilgrims in submitting the certificates within the stipulated time.
State Minister in charge of Haj N. Samsudheen had written to the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs and the Central Haj Committee pointing out the difficulties faced by pilgrims. The Minister had requested a deadline extension. The extension is expected to bring major relief to thousands of Haj pilgrims from Keralam. Authorities have urged pilgrims to complete the medical screening process and submit the certificates at the designated centres by September 30.
