The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), which will be observing its 86th Foundation Day later this week, kicked off the celebrations with a Fit India Walkathon here on Sunday.
HAL Chairman and Managing Director D.K. Sunil flagged off the walkathon which saw participation of around 1,000 employees from Bengaluru-based divisions.
Dr. Sunil also flagged off a mountaineering expedition by Aritra Roy, an accomplished mountaineer and Everest Summiteer, to South America.
Mr. Aritra will climb Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in South America, as part of his Seven-Summit Challenge.
“The HAL has always stood for courage, excellence, and the spirit of pushing boundaries. As we celebrate our 86th Foundation Day, HAL is proud to encourage such extraordinary pursuits that demonstrate resilience, leadership, and the ability to overcome challenges. We wish him a successful climb,” said Dr. Sunil.
The HAL Day is celebrated annually on December 23, and this year, a special event will be organised on the New HAL Management Academy Campus, along with celebrations across all HAL divisions and offices.
