The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has criticised the Revanth Reddy Government in Telangana for issuing a notification (by the Telangana Breweries Corporation Ltd) for supply 121 brands of liquor, when lakhs of unemployed youth are awaiting job notifications.
In a statement, senior leader of the party and former minister T. Harish Rao sought to know what was the urgency in giving the notification for supply of liquor on priority basis instead of issuing job notifications — to assure the future of the youth.
When the youth were waiting to compete for jobs by completing their academics, the government was focusing on improving liquor sales by increasing the number of outlets and brands to fleece money from people. He criticised the government for its failure to keep the promise made before the 2023 Assembly elections, to fill two lakh jobs within the first calendar year after coming to power.
