The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition filed by K.K. Ramesh of Hindu Dharma Parishad, Madurai, who sought a direction to the Central government and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to instruct the State government to take action against those officials who had denied permission to the Hindu devotees to light lamps and conduct worship atop the Thirupparankundram hill, but granted permission for Ramzan celebrations.
A Division Bench of Justices N. Sathish Kumar and M. Jothiraman dismissed the petition. The court said the petition was filed for publicity and warned the petitioner.
