Several parts of Telangana are forecast to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall to over the next few days, as per India Meteorological Department’s forecast.

A well marked depression over the west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal is likely to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall to several parts of Telangana over the next few days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing red and orange alert for multiple districts for Wednesday (September 23, 2026) and Thursday (September 24, 2026).

According to IMD’s latest bulletin, a red alert indicating very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanumakonda districts on Wednesday.
An orange alert, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall was issued for isolated places in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Jangaon and Siddipet districts.
“Some districts in northern and northeastern Telangana could receive very heavy rainfall of 12 to 19 cm on Tuesday. The intensity of rainfall is expected to remain high over the following two days,” said G.N.R.S Srinivas, Senior Meteorologist at IMD Centre Hyderabad, adding the system would influence weather conditions across Telangana.

Meanwhile, a red alert was issued for isolated places in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanumakonda districts for Thursday.
An orange alert was issued for isolated places in Adialabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Jangaon and Siddipet districts.
Hyderabad weather forecast
Hyderabad city and its surrounding areas could see a generally cloudy sky over the next 48 hours. “Moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds are very likely to occur in parts of the city. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 30℃ and 22℃ respectively,” as per the bulletin.
