Dr. G. Viswanathan Hospitals Pvt. Ltd. launched an advanced 100W Holmium Laser System to enable minimally invasive urological treatments in Tiruchi on Thursday.
The 100W Holmium Laser, considered to be the most advanced in its category, was inaugurated by K. Govindaraj, chairman, Dr. G. Viswanathan Speciality Hospitals, M.S. Ashraf, past national vice-president, Indian Medical Association, and Zameer Pasha, chairman, The Association of Surgeons of India (Tamil Nadu), in the city on Thursday.
Senior urologist Krishnaswami Kannan said that the Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate is a treatment for people with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It is an incision-free alternative to traditional surgery.
The laser technology is widely used in the treatment of kidney stones and urinary tract stones. It enables effective stone fragmentation with minimal tissue damage, resulting in shorter hospital stays and quicker recovery times for patients.
