A college student died in a two-wheeler collision near the Rohini Theatre on Poonamallee High Road on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Pushparaj, 19, a second-year student of hotel management at a college in Arumbakkam.
According to the police, Pushparaj was heading towards Aminjikarai on his motorcycle, with two Class XII students riding pillion, when another motorcycle, proceeding in the same direction, collided with their vehicle. All three were reportedly without helmets.
The deceased sustained severe injuries on the right side of his head. He died at the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, without responding to treatment. The other two escaped without any injuries.
The two-wheeler rider, Muthu Manikandan, 27, who collided with their motorcycle, sustained minor injuries on his left arm.
