The International Head and Neck Oncology Summit 2026 inaugurated by Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh at Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad, on Saturday, saw the participation of over 500 oncology specialists from India and abroad.

Head and neck cancers account for nearly 30% of all cancer cases in India, with approximately 2.25 lakh new cases and 1.25 lakh deaths reported annually, said experts during the International Head and Neck Oncology Summit 2026 held at Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad, on Saturday.
The summit, inaugurated by Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh, saw participation of over 500 oncology specialists from India and abroad. On the sidelines of the summit, Yashoda Hospitals launched an AI-enabled Head and Neck Oncology Clinic at its Hitech City unit, aimed at enabling highly accurate and early detection of head and neck cancers. The facility integrates artificial intelligence with genetic and molecular profiling to deliver personalised treatment plans, said a release.
According to the release, the clinic will offer AI-based treatment pathways that may include robotic surgery, targeted therapies and immunotherapy, depending on the biological characteristics of the tumour.
Addressing the gathering, Yashoda Hospitals managing director G. S. Rao said the launch marked a major step forward in personalised cancer care. He noted that integrating advanced technology into oncology practice would help improve diagnostic precision and treatment outcomes.
