The Visakhapatnam Research Centre of the ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT) marked its 69th Foundation Day on Wednesday (April 29, 2026), with a series of events highlighting its scientific contributions and outreach initiatives.

Presiding over the function, B. Madhusudana Rao, Principal Scientist and Scientist-in-Charge, outlined the institute’s achievements and future priorities. The chief guest, G. Nagendran, Deputy Director General of the Geological Survey of India, commended the institute’s role in advancing harvest and post-harvest fisheries and said it served as a referral laboratory in post-harvest fisheries.
