In a decisive push towards self-reliance in the maritime sector, the government has accelerated efforts to strengthen India’s shipping capabilities amid evolving developments around the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global maritime energy corridor.

A high-level inter-ministerial review meeting, chaired by Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, focused on building a robust and future-ready maritime ecosystem to safeguard national supply chains.
