The Indian Red Cross Society Cancer Hospital will celebrate its silver jubilee on Wednesday (February 04, 2026), commemorating 25 years of service in cancer detection, treatment, and patient care. The celebration will be held at the hospital premises at Podalakur Road in Nellore.
Established in 2001 by renowned philanthropist Jakka Srinivasulu Reddy (J.S. Reddy), the hospital began as a cancer detection center with a vision to serve the underprivileged. It features specialised wings including radiation and surgical oncology.
With 105 approved beds, the facility ensures comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care. Nearly 90 per cent of patients receive treatment under the Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme of A.P. government, eliminating financial barriers and ensuring healthcare accessibility for the poor.
The silver jubilee celebration coincides with World Cancer Day, emphasising the global commitment to cancer awareness, prevention, and treatment. This underscores the hospital’s alignment with international healthcare goals and its contribution to the global fight against cancer.
