The arrest of an accused in a burglary case in which gold ornaments worth ₹4.17 lakh were taken away from a house in Devanagar of Kalaburagi has led to the detection of several such cases involving an inter-State criminal and the recovery of gold ornaments worth ₹14 lakh, Kalaburagi Police Commissioner S.D. Sharanappa said on Thursday.
Addressing presspersons, Dr. Sharanappa said that the accused has been identified as 61-year-old Shivaprasad Mantri, also known as Mantri Shankar, a native of Nagavaram in Malkajgiri district of Telangana.
