The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory, announcing of possible diversions and restrictions in as many as 30 locations across the national capital region on Saturday (October 10, 2026), owing to the protests by various organisations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar at Jantar Mantar. The restrictions are scheduled to be imposed since 6 A.M., depending on ground conditions, mentioned the official X handle of Delhi Traffic Police.
Posting on X, the Delhi Traffic Police wrote, “Commuters are advised to plan their journeys in advance, avoid non-essential travel through affected areas. Please keep extra time in hand if travelling towards railway stations, ISBTs, or the Airport via New Delhi and Central Delhi”. The development follows as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) had announced a day earlier about the closure of 45 metro stations in the national capital in a bid to prevent any law and order situation. The previous decision of closure of 57 railway stations got revoked following an immediate rap by the Supreme Court.
Alongside, over 200 trains coming into or originating from Delhi have been cancelled or rescheduled by four railway zones, such as Western Railway, Central Railway, Northern Railway and North-Western Railway.
