Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Gurajada, Vizianagaram (JNTU-GV) Vice-Chancellor V.V. Subba Rao on Thursday (October 8, 2026) said the university had introduced student-centric governance so that students could get all services without hassle. He said students no longer needed to pay a ₹3,000 tatkal fee to quickly obtain their original degrees and other certificates from the university.
The new online system would help them get certificates in a couple of days, and there was no need for them to visit the university and submit applications offline, he said. The statutory fees for each service can be paid online.
Speaking to The Hindu here, he said the new initiative would benefit nearly 90,000 students studying in 37 affiliated colleges in six north Andhra districts, including Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam. “Earlier, the students used to face many difficulties with the submission of applications in offline mode. They used to come to JNTU-GV to know the status of their applications. Now, the offline procedure was stopped to ensure transparency in the administration,” he added.
Mr. Subba Rao, who completed one year as Vice-Chancellor on Wednesday (October 7, 2026), said the Centralised Academic Platform (CAP) mobile app had become another advantage for faculty members and students of the university colleges. All services related to academics, documents, hostel services and others could be accessed through the app, developed by the university recently, he said.
