Job mela to be held in Mandya in February

Chief executive officer of Mandya Zilla Panchayat K.R. Nandini has called upon the job aspirants in Mandya district to make the best use of the job mela, which is set to be held at Mandya Boys’ Degree College in February.

Presiding over a preparatory meeting on the upcoming district-level job mela, at the Mini Conference Hall of the zilla panchayat premises on February 3, Ms. Nandini said greater emphasis should be placed on employment opportunities within local companies, as well as those based in Mysuru and Bengaluru, to ensure that job seekers can find suitable job options. 

Employment opportunities should be created especially for skilled youth living in rural areas, she said.

Adequate publicity should be given to the job fair. “Publicity should be carried out through autorickshaw announcements, banners, pamphlets, television and display boards at government offices. The event should also be promoted through social media,” she added.

She instructed officials to provide proper guidance to all job aspirants participating in the fair and help them secure employment based on their qualifications.

Officials should also create awareness among candidates and inform them that they must be open to working outside the district if job opportunities arise.

Awareness should also be created among school and college principals regarding employment preparations. Various employment opportunities will be available at the job fair, enabling job seekers to choose jobs according to their interests, she noted.

Information about the job fair should reach people in all taluks, and awareness must be created among youth within all gram panchayat jurisdictions. Meetings should be conducted at the taluk level regarding the job fair, and the registration process should begin at taluk and gram panchayat offices, she instructed.

Skill Development Department official Nagananda, chief planning officer of Mandya Zilla Panchayat Dhanush and other officials were also present on the occasion.
