A junior assistant working in the office of the Deputy Educational Officer at Bandlaguda was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau on Wednesday for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 to extend an official favour.
The accused has been identified as Shiva Prasad, . He was trapped by officials of the ACB City Range-II unit at his office after he demanded the bribe from a complainant.
Officials said the bribe was sought in exchange for not removing the complainant’s school from the list of SSC board examination centres.
The tainted cash of ₹10,000 was recovered from the possession of the accused at his instance.
The accused was taken into custody and is being produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand.
