Karnataka Janapada Parishat, Bengaluru, has chosen K. Chinnappa Gowda, a former Professor of Kannada at Mangalore University and also former Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka Folklore University, for its Ge. Sham. Paramashivaiah Award 2026.
The award will be presented to him at the two-day Vidyarthi Lokotsava programme, which will begin at Janapada Loka in Ramanagara from February 7. Mr. Gowda will receive the award on February 8 from Transport Minister G. Ramalinga Reddy. The programme will be organised by the Karnataka Janapada Parishat in association with the Department of Kannada and Culture.
The award comprises â‚ą25,000 in cash, a memento, and a certificate, a release said.
