Entry to Kozhikode beach will be restricted for vehicles after 5 p.m. on Wednesday (December 31), and traffic will be diverted on sections of Kannur Road. However, emergency services, including ambulances and those travelling to the Government Beach Hospital, will be granted access.

Leading malls and hotels are preparing for the year’s biggest night with a variety of offerings. Several hospitality venues have planned programmes that blend curated menus with live performances and DJ parties, offering guests various ways to welcome the year ahead.

Malabar Palace will host a dinner accompanied by a live musical performance by singer Maathan, positioning the celebration as a quieter alternative. “We are consciously keeping the programme relaxed and family-oriented,” said N. Shonima, guest relations executive at Malabar Palace. “While many New Year events are centred around loud DJ parties, we wanted to offer something different, ” she said.

Hotel Paramount Tower has announced ‘Enigma 2026’, a themed programme that brings together a gala dinner, stage shows, children’s activities, dance performances, and live music, before shifting to a DJ set later in the night. Television personalities Maneesh and Reshmi will anchor the programme. “Our idea was to make the celebration inclusive,” said Ragesh M., general manager of Sales and Operations at Hotel Paramount Tower. “We have also focussed heavily on desserts because, rightly, the New Year should begin on a sweet note,” he added.

Le Chicago has lined up a DJ programme aimed at a younger crowd, with DJ Shaiflai set to perform throughout the evening, accompanied by music and refreshments.

Likewise, the Raviz Kadavu hotel would offer a live performance by the music band Paattu Company and a party hosted by DJ Ash. “The ambience, food, music, fun activities for kids, and grand fireworks will create an unforgettable experience with the best service,” said Praveen Kumar, director of Sales.

Hotel Dimora is curating a buffet with over 60 Indian and international delicacies, live unplugged music, and engaging games, offering a vibrant and family-friendly environment. “We designed this event as a safe, warm, and inclusive celebration where guests of all ages can relax, enjoy engaging activities, and create meaningful memories together,” said Midhun Raj, sales manager.

Hotel Yash International and its popular Gossip Lounge Bar are ready for a New Year’s bash featuring a DJ night by the band Replikx. The programme, organised with a focus on youth, intends to create a space for people to connect and enjoy the moment.
