The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced special inter-State services to accommodate the travel rush associated with the Mahanavami, Vijayadashami and Diwali celebrations. From October 14 to November 14, additional buses will operate between cities like Bengaluru, Mysuru and Chennai and various locations in Keralam. Online reservation facilities have already been launched, allowing passengers to book tickets in advance without hassle.
Special buses have been arranged from Bengaluru to Kozhikode, Malappuram, Thrissur, Nilambur, Ponnani, Ernakulam, Changanassery, Pala, Alappuzha, Kollam, Punalur, Kottarakkara, Cherthala, Haripad, Kottayam, Adoor, Kannur, Payyannur, Kanhangad and Thiruvananthapuram. Additionally, services will operate from Mysuru to Kannur and Madurai. Travel facilities are also available from Chennai to Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam. The services to Ernakulam will utilize multi-axle AC buses.
Special services have also been arranged from various depots in Keralam to these other States. Buses will operate to Bengaluru from Kozhikode, Nilambur, Ponnani, Malappuram, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Changanassery, Alappuzha, Kollam, Punalur, Kottarakkara, Cherthala, Haripad, Kottayam, Adoor, Kannur, Payyannur, Kanhangad and Thiruvananthapuram. Services will also be available to Mysuru from the Pala and Kannur depots, and to Chennai from Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam. The Ernakulam-Chennai service will also be operated using multi-axle AC buses. Buses on some of these routes will operate on alternate days. KSRTC plans to deploy additional buses if needed, depending on the passenger rush in the coming days.
