L-G, CM assure to examine Justice Sasidharan Commission report for OBC quota in local body polls

Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy have assured to examine Justice K. K Sasidharan Commission report to provide reservation for Other Backward Classes in local body polls in the Union Territory.

Both gave the assurance while addressing a gathering after receiving the report from Justice Sasidharan at an event held in Marie Building on Friday. The government had in 2021 appointed a one-man Commission headed by K. K. Sasidharan, former Judge of the Madras High Court, to ascertain the proportion of OBCs in the Union Territory to reserve seats in the local body elections.
