During the inquiry into the April 29 rains, it was noted that despite the 2023 tragedy, when the underpass was inundated after heavy rain, no permanent remedial measures had been put in place.

Lokayukta Justice B.S. Patil has added several top officials of the State and Bengaluru, including the Chief Secretary and the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) chief, as respondents in a case pertaining to the death of a software engineer drowning in the flooded K.R. Circle underpass in 2023.
The K.R. Circle underpass was flooded during the heavy rains on April 29, this year, and was inspected by Justice Patil. Thereafter, in a 2023 case pending before him, he ordered that the Chief Secretary, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Urban Development Department, the Chief Commissioner of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), and the Bengaluru City Corporation Commissioner be added as respondents.
