Lokesh promises action as Anakapalli welfare hostel girls allege food shortage

IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh on Friday promised action in response to a video posted on social media in which a group of girls from the BC Welfare Girls Hostel at Cheedikada in Anakapalli district alleged they were not being provided adequate food and were being mistreated by the hostel authorities. The Minister apologised for the inconvenience the girls were facing.

In the video, the students complained that they were not being provided with sufficient food at the hostel. The girls said whenever they questioned about it, the authorities insulted them, questioning why they were asking for more food and remarking whether they had not eaten enough in schools.
