The Mavoor police on Monday (February 2) issued a lookout notice as part of an intensified search for a Kodiyathur native accused of intentionally ramming his car into two motorcycle riders.
According to police sources, the suspect, identified as Irfan, has been booked under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). A few local youths who allegedly helped him flee the scene were also questioned as part of efforts to trace him, they said.
The alleged attempt to murder occurred near Mavoor on January 31. Thansil Nasar and his brother, Thasneem Nasar, sustained serious injuries in the incident and were admitted to a private medical college hospital.
According to the police, financial disputes between the families of the suspect and the injured persons are believed to have triggered the incident.
