International conference
Thiagarajar School of Management (TSM), Madurai, hosted a three-day International Conference on Frontiers of Sustainability – Global Responsibility for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FOS 2026–GRIE).
It aims to foster global dialogue on sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship while strengthening research collaboration and knowledge exchange across institutions and industries worldwide.
Speaking at the event, TSM Director Murali Sambasivan, emphasised the role of responsible innovation in addressing global sustainability challenges.
Chief Guest, Director of Indian Institute of Management, Nagpur, Bhimaraya Metri, highlighted the need for academia–industry collaboration to drive impactful and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems.
The event witnessed the participation of international co-organisers and scholars.
Professor Wim Vanhaverbeke, University of Antwerp, Belgium, Editor-in-Chief of Technovation (Elsevier), spoke on open innovation and sustainability in global business contexts.
TSM principal M. Selvalakshmi proposed a vote of thanks.
State-level seminar
A one-day state-level seminar on ‘Empowering Consumers: Rights and Responsibilities’ was organised by Citizens Consumer Club of Mangayarkarasi College of Arts and Science for Women, in collaboration with the Department of Food and Consumer Protection, Government of Tamil Nadu.
Over 300 students from various schools and colleges participated.
During the event, Assistant Commissioner, Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection J. Vijayathilagam, spoke on consumer rights and protection laws. Project and Waste Management Consultant and Life Skill Trainer K. S. Krishnamohan discussed consumer education and awareness. Food Safety Office P. Jeyakumar spoke on food safety and unfair trade practices.
The event also included the release of Krishnamohan’s book, ‘Empowered from Within- Mastering 10 Skills for a Life of Purpose and Success’.
National Voters’ Day
Mepco Schlenk Matric Higher Secondary School observes 16th National Voters Day.

16th National Voters’ Day was observed in Mepco Schlenk Matric Higher Secondary School. The RDO of Tirumangalam Sivajothi presided. Schoolstudents and staff members took an oath, which was read by Deputy Tahsildar Gomathi, along with VAO of Maravankulam Balamurugan.
Various competitions, like essay writing and drawing, were conducted. Principal J. Easter Jothi honoured the prize winners.

Road Safety Club of Madurai Institute of Social Sciences, with Regional Transport Office, Madurai North, organises 37th National Road Safety Month Programme.

Road Safety Club of Madurai Institute of Social Sciences, in collaboration with Regional Transport Office, Madurai North, organised the 37th National Road Safety Month Programme.
Speaking at the event, chief guest N. Karthikeyan, Regional Transport Officer (i/c), Madurai North emphasised the importance of strictly following traffic rules. He highlighted how road accidents cause irreparable loss not only to individuals but also to families and the overall development of the nation.
A. Manickam, Motor Vehicles Inspector, North Zone, Madurai, advised students to strictly adhere to road safety norms, obtain valid driving licenses before riding two-wheelers, avoid over speeding, and practice responsible driving behaviour.
Prizes and certificates were distributed to the students who won in the competition held to raise awareness of road safety.
Republic day celebration
Sri Sundareswara Vidhya Sala School Higher Secondary School, Melur, celebrates 77th Republic Day.

The 77th Republic Day celebration was held at Sri Sundareswara Vidhya Sala School Higher Secondary School, in Aatukulam, Melur.
During the event, special guest Swami Arkaprabananda, Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, spoke on on the wholesome development of students.
The school’s alumnus, Subedar Sivaraman, an Indian Army Ordnance Corps unfurled the National Flag.
Students presented march past, drill, and dance programmes, and kindergarten students dressed as leaders of our nation took part in a colourful parade.
Subedar Sivaraman gave an awareness presentation titled “Young India”, highlighting career opportunities in the Indian Army and motivating students to serve the nation.
