Sports meet
The 30th Annual Sports Meet of MEPCO Schlenk Matriculation Higher Secondary School was held.
Head, Department of Physical Education, Madurai Kamaraj University, C. Ramesh hoisted the Olympic flag. Correspondent D. Singaravel presided, while principal J. Easter Jothi welcomed.
Principal, MEPCO Schlenk Nursery and Primary School, Meritta Rachal Jha, proposed a vote of thanks.

Lakshmi School, which introduced the Cambridge Programme this academic year, organised a Student Spotlight programme for its first Grade 5 batch, with football as the theme.
The students made presentations on various aspects of football, demonstrating their communication skills, critical thinking and global perspectives. School leaders and parents attended the programme.

The Department of B.Com. (Honours) integrated with ACCA, UK, Fatima College, organised ACCASPIRE 2026, an inter-school meet. A total of 225 students and 22 teachers from 13 schools participated.
Vice-Principal-I Bindu Antony inaugurated.
Chief Executive Officer, Brightspan Advisors, and former Director-HR, KPMG, PwC and EY, Rangarajan Subramanian, spoke on global careers in finance and the role of technology and AI.
Sri Aurobindo Mira Universal School won the overall championship, while Velammal Vidyalaya, Anuppanadi, was the runner-up.
Financial literacy programme
The Centre of Excellence in Banking, Applied Economics and Financial Markets, Thiagarajar School of Management (TSM), in association with the Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation, organised a financial literacy programme, âSmart Money, Bright Futureâ.
More than 100 students and faculty members across schools in Madurai participated.
Director, TSM, Murali Sambasivan felicitated. Branch Manager, Federal Bank, Deepak Kumar spoke on financial and digital scams and ways to avoid them. Chairperson (Finance), TSM, Nalini G.S. explained financial instruments, personal finance and investment.
Principal Selvalakshmi distributed prizes to the winners of a quiz competition.
Study on tribal community
Postgraduate Economics Teacher B. Murugesan, Government Boysâ Higher Secondary School, Ezhumalai, took higher secondary economics students on a field study to Alagammalpuram village, Peraiyampatti panchayat, to study the socio-economic conditions of the tribal community.
Student R. Vetrimaran said the visit inspired them to explore further research on tribal development.
Mr. Murugesan said such field studies had been conducted for several years and students, along with the Kuyas charitable organisation, had been distributing new clothes to tribal families during Deepavali for the past two years.

The 57th Annual Sports Meet of Arul Anandar College, Karumathur, was held recently.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, Dindigul, S. Kumaresan inaugurated and stressed the importance of discipline and dedication in sports and studies.
Director of Physical Education J. Vanitha presented the annual sports report.
Assistant Regional Transport Officer and hockey player G. Santhosh Kumar distributed prizes.
