Blood donation camp
Mangayarkarasi College of Arts and Science for Women, in collaboration with Rajaji Government Hospital, Madurai, conducted a blood donation camp aimed at promoting public health and social responsibility. It was held under the guidance of principal Uma Baskar and Dean Chendur Priyadharshini. RRC Coordinator S. Rajam and M. Mano Ranjani Devi coordinated. A large number of students volunteered to donate blood.

The PG and Research Department of Chemistry, Fatima College, Madurai, organised a special lecture on N. Sakunthala Endowment. A short video highlighting the academic contributions of N. Sakunthala, former principal and former Head of the Department of Chemistry, was screened.
During this event, S. Jemima Balaselvi Juliana, Associate Professor, The American College, Madurai, spoke on the topic, âMetal Organic Frameworks â Molecular Architects & Engineered Materialsâ. She emphasised MOFâs tunable structures, large surface area and versatile applications in gas storage, sensing and environmental remediation. She further referred to the contributions of Nobel Laureates whose pioneering work in Coordination Chemistry laid the foundation for the development of MOFs.

To commemorate the International Human Rights Day (10.12.2025) on behalf of the PG Department of Social Work, a special one day Seminar on âHuman Rights: Our Everyday Essentialâ was organised.
Speaking at the event, Resource person, Advocate K. Samithurai, State president of Indian Association of Lawyers, High Court Madurai Bench highlighted the importance and various types of human rights. He created awareness among the students about protecting fundamental rights and responsibilities.
Students actively participated and interacted with the resource person. Secretary, Madurai Institute of Social Sciences, D. V. Dharmasingh, presided. Principal (in-charge), P. Jayakumar welcomed. Head of the PG Department of Social Work, M. Nisanth, proposed a vote of thanks.
