State-level seminar
The Departments of Commerce, Commerce (CA), and Business Administration of Mangayarkarasi Arts and Science College for Women, Madurai, jointly organised a State-Level Seminar on ‘International Business and Supply Chain Management’.
Speaking at the event, director of the EXIM Group of Companies R. R. Padmanabhan elaborated on the importance of international trade, export–import procedures, and the crucial role of supply chain management in the global market. He also shared valuable industry-oriented practical experiences, offering guidance and motivation to the students.
Students, faculty members, and academicians from various colleges across the state participated.

Hair donation drive
As a part of silver jubilee celebrations, Lakshmi School organised ‘Locks of Love’, a hair donation drive at Lakshmi Hospital, and the donated hair was handed over to the Adyar Cancer. Students, parents, and representatives from institutions across Madurai participated, with over 164 volunteers supported.
Speaking on the occasion, principal Subhashini said, “Through this small act, our donors give courage and comfort to someone they may never meet.”

ICSI Southern Region Convocation- 2025 was organised at Fatima College, Madurai. A total of 308 Company Secretaries, along with their families, participated. The Research, Events, and Innovation Committees of Sethu Institute of Technology organised Sethu Shining Stars Award 2K25 to recognise excellence in research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and competitive achievements during the period June to December 2025.
Speaking on the occasion, principal G. D. Sivakumar highlighted the institution’s vision of fostering innovation-driven education.
Faculty members were honoured for securing funding support from the Startup Incubation Centre, including grants of ₹7.5 lakhs and ₹15 lakhs for research and startup initiatives.
Students were awarded cash prizes ranging from ₹1,50,000 to ₹3,00,000 for their achievements in National-Level Hackathons and EDII Innovative Contests.
Faculty members who emerged as NPTEL achievers were also specially recognised and awarded.
In total, 280 students and faculty members participated. Head of the Department Punitha proposed a vote of thanks.

The Research and Development (R&D) Cell of Fatima College, Madurai, in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell, conducted a six-day national-level online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on the topic ‘Next Generation Intellectual Property Rights for Innovation, Startups, Education and Research through Artificial Intelligence Tools’. Professors, researchers, and scholars from various national-level educational institutions participated.
The objective was to enhance awareness and practical understanding of intellectual property rights, patent filing procedures, patent tools aided by artificial intelligence, and the commercialisation of academic research.
More than 300 participants attended this training program.
